Students and academicians from the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing of our Faculty’s Nursing Department organized a meaningful awareness event.
As part of Cancer Week, observed from April 1–7, Trakya University Nursing Department students set up a booth on Saraçlar Street in Edirne to provide the public with important health-related information.
Through direct interaction, attention was drawn to the most common cancers—breast cancer in women and lung cancer in men. Pink ribbons symbolizing breast cancer and white ribbons representing lung cancer were pinned to citizens.
The event emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and screening programs, as well as the role of regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, exercise, and avoiding harmful habits in the fight against cancer.
Students reiterated the message, “Early diagnosis saves lives,” underlining that public awareness is the strongest step in combating cancer.
