“PHYSIOTHERAPISTS' DAY EVENTS” HELD

As part of Turkey Physiotherapists' Day, the “Physiotherapists' Day Events” were organized by the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of our Faculty at Trakya University Balkan Congress Center.

The event was attended by our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Özgül Erol, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Keklicek, academics, and students.

The opening speech was delivered by student Melek Çiftçi from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, who stated that she chose the profession of physiotherapy with the goal of healing others and emphasized the importance of belief and solidarity. Addressing her fellow students, she said, “As long as we believe in ourselves and stand together, we will find our own light.”

In her speech, Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Keklicek touched upon the history of the physiotherapy profession and highlighted its diversity, including fields such as sports, gynecology, and aviation physiotherapy. She expressed their main goal as reaching a period where physiotherapists work effectively alongside other healthcare professionals and specialists.

Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Özgül Erol emphasized that physiotherapy and rehabilitation encompass all approaches aimed at improving individuals’ functional capacity and mobility throughout their lives. She underlined that physiotherapists play key roles not only in patient care but also in public health, awareness, management, education, and research.

Following the speeches, Research Assistant Büşra Mehder Akbaş presented a talk titled “II. Accreditation Student Awareness Training.” The program concluded with the “White Coat Ceremony.”
